The book Life of Pi is the story of a boy named Piscine Patel and his family. The book explains the struggle Pi faces when he is on the lifeboat. After Pi’s parents decides to sell their zoo in India and move to canada. The family board the boat Tsimtsum with a few remaining animals. Tragedy smacks when a frightful storm sinks in the ship, leaving Pi as the only human survivor. Although, Pi wasn’t alone; with him on the lifeboat was Richard Parker a bengal tiger. As days turn into weeks and weeks advances into months, Pi and Richard Parker have to learn to trust each other. Pi grew up being Hindu and he loves everything about being Hindu. He states “I became loyal to the sense impressions even before I knew what they meant or what they were for. It is my heart that commands me so. I feel at home in a Hindu temple”(Martel 48). This shows how much love Pi has for the Hindu Religion. Also, Pi has learned about Christianity and Islam Religion. The one where everyone does everything alone or have someone greater to help with everything. Being alone and not having anyone to help can be a bad thing there's no hope but having someone there to help and guide through difficult moments makes everything much better. By Pi having three religion to follow all at once gives him hope when he was at the lifeboat even when things weren't going the way he wanted them to go he still had hope. When he was hungry in the lifeboat he got food he thanked the Lord. He states “Once you save the world by taking the form of a fish.
