Ayn Rand, the author of Anthem used many literary elements to portray a story that helped us to realize standing on your own in exile is hard but can be beneficial. She showed us that Equality was miserable in his home through flashbacks after he was exiled he missed certain elements he was alienated from shown through emotional imagery, and how being exiled lead to his ultimate happiness through mood changes shown by colors.
