1. In the tragedy, Macbeth (1623), William Shakespeare implies that if something is taken through force then it will eventually all fall apart in the end because it was not meant to be in the first place. The author supports this claim by showing how Macbeth took the power from King Duncan by using force and he thought that everything would be fine in the beginning but everything eventually fell to pieces as his power ceased when he was killed by Macduff. The author’s purpose is to show how certain things cannot be changed no matter what in order to show how ignorant and foolish it was of Macbeth to trust the three witches and try to take things into his own hands. The prophecies of the witches were told in a very ambiguous way as to leave Macbeth open to interpret them in the way that he wants to. Macbeth interpreted the prophecies literally so to him he thought that he couldn’t get hurt by anyone as everyone is born of a woman. Macbeth was not afraid of Macduff because of that prophecy but he was shocked when he found out that Macduff was born through a caesarian section. Macbeth took the prophecies literally which ultimately caused his death all for trusting the witches too much.
4. It shocks me to see how ignorant and foolish Macbeth was to ignore all the signs that were right in front of him. Macbeth was so blinded by the witches’ prophecies that they literally led to his death. Macbeth put the fate of his life in the hands of the witches and they basically chose how his life would play it because he let them. I also think that the witches might’ve chosen Macbeth as the person to lay out the prophecies on because he was weak. They also told Banquo about his prophecy but he didn’t do anything about it because he was much stronger than
