Louie’s mother is introduced to Unbroken from the very start of the book. The beginning of the story talks about his childhood and his mother is a big part of it by being his parent but also his friend. She is clearly tough but very loving to her children. One part of the story that stands out to me is when Louie decides to leave the house because he doesn’t like being at home and his mother quickly makes him a sandwich and doesn’t let him just leave with nothing.
A key action of Louie’s mother is that she is protective of her children but also can joke around with them. My last sentence in the paragraph before shows that she is supportive of Louie but also wants him to remember her and know that she is always there for him no matter what
