Macbeth written by William Shakespeare is a play which explores the danger of the human mind. The human mind is such a delicate and complex organ that can be corrupted by the simplest thoughts. Desire and ambition often lead to negative results, because greed overpowers the thought of consequences. This is a continuing idea throughout everyday lives. Jordan Belfort is a perfect example of how someone's ambition can ruin their life when consequences are not considered. Jordan belfort was a small stock broker in 1987 and by 1989 he ran his own company. Macbeth started as a thane and using his greed and ambition he became king. When someone portrays greed it is not an attractive trait and typically makes people seem different then how they once were. Macbeth goes a little bit crazy after killing banquo and imagines that he is seeing a ghost. He has this vision during a dinner that is supposed to be a celebration of him becoming king. Lady macbeth has to pretend that he is not going crazy and is only coming down with a cold. Macbeth begins acting less caring for his wife, when she begins to go crazy because of guilt he tells the doctor to check on her, rather than checking himself because he is to busy trying to keep his title. Lady Macbeth ends up committing suicide, and even then Macbeth says “ She should have died hereafter; There would have been a time for such a word”(V.V.17-18), meaning that its fine that she dies because it was going to happen later anyway. Jordan Belfort surrounds himself with very questionable things. He hangs out with people whom are all about partying and having a good time. His ambition leads him to hangout with these people but then it’s his obsession becomes the true problem. Belfort becomes indulged in doing different types of recreational drugs. He does them in a very bad manner, by doing them at home around his children as well as driving while under the influence. One incident that happened while he was under the influence was one of the causes to their divorce “Jordan kicked Nadine Carini Belfort while he was carrying their daughter, right before he crashed into a pillar inside their Long Island home with his little daughter in the passenger seat.” After this incident Nadine sent Jordan to rehab, and divorced him. Both people put themselves in situations where they were not thinking about the consequences of their ambitious actions. Therefore resulting in the loss of people they love, Macbeth forever losing his wife and Belfort losing a second wife, and
