Machiavelli was an Italian historian, politician, diplomat, philosopher, humanist, and writer. He wrote this piece to show the right way for a prince to act and how to be raised. There is a bias because it was written by a guy of the earlier generation and may have possible juvenoia.

The occasion was that Italy was in need of a powerful leader so the enemies would fear them and they would be less vulnerable to other nations that may attack them. After the renaissance starting Italy was in need of a great leader to keep them alive

The audience of this piece was the King, and Queen at the time of this piece so they would know how to raise the Prince, and directly at the Prince so he would know how to act. I can assume that this royal family
