La Malinche also known as Malinalli and Dona Marina was a Nahua woman from the Mexican Gulf Coast. Malinche was named after the Goddess of Grass. She played a major role in the Spanish defeat of the Aztec Empire. She worked as an interpreter, advisor, and negotiator for Hernan Cortes. She was one of twenty-one slaves given to the Spaniards. Eventually, she became a mistress of Hernan Cortes and gave birth to his first son. His name was Martin. Malinche then later had another kid with conquistador Juan de Jaramillo. Hernan Cortes de Monroy y Pizarro Altamirano was born on 1485 in Medellin, Spain. He was a Spanish Conquistador and explorer who led an expedition that led to the fall of the Aztec Empire.
