Are humans really that gullible? According to the recent study from Nathan Zohner,

people will believe anything you tell them without even bothering to look in to it. In this

researcher's study, subjects were read a speech about how badly the chemical dihydrogen

monoxide needed to be banned because accidental inhalation could be deadly, it is a leading

cause for erosion, and has been discovered in tumors of patients with cancer. Out of these fifty

subjects, forty-three said yes, six were undecided, and only one person was aware that

dihydrogen monoxide was water. This study has been inspired by that past experiment, but

changed slightly to where the chemical being talked about are disaccharides, a type of sugar

that could

Maltose, Sucrose, and Lactose are three important and common disaccharides with the formula

of C12H22O11. Maltose is also known as malt sugar, because it is formed when starch breaks

down, and it is a necessary ingredient of the barley malt used to brew alcoholic beverages such

as beer. Maltose is composed of two glucose units and is the least common disaccharide out

there. It is a reducing sugar, used in germinating grain, in a small proportion of corn syrup,

and forms on the partial hydrolysis of starch. Sucrose is the standard natural sweetener that is

an efficient source of energy, very simple, and metabolizes quickly for storage and utilization.

Sucrose is also highly used as a sweetener in food products. Although this substance is natural,

it could possibly be very addictive to foods and beverages. Unlike other disaccharides, sucrose

gives out only energy, basically. There are few nutrients actually transferred from this chemical

to the body, except for energy. Even though sucrose could be extremely unhealthy when

consumed in large amounts, small and moderate amounts of this substance is needed for
