A well-known name in the US history is Margaret Sanger who was born on September 14, 1879. After watching her mother dying at the age of 50, Margaret Sanger decided to become a nurse and fight for women rights, especially the right of controlling our own body. She is the person behind the birth control movement and the person who opened the in 1916 first birth-control clinic in the United States. The clinic was located in Brooklyn, New York and its main activity was offering counseling, birth control information and supplies to women in the area.
