“Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes”, shared Oscar Wilde. Therefore, Marjane Satrapi makes it evident, in her graphic novel Persepolis that the mistakes made in her childhood contributed to her growth and knowledge of the world around her. At the age of ten she decides to go to a demonstration against the Shah with her nanny Mehri, as she, “finally understood the reasons for the revolution” (38). However, the day she had gone to the demonstration was known as “Black Friday” because on that day, “there were so many killed in one of the neighborhoods that a rumor spread that Israeli soldiers were responsible for the slaughter”(39). As a result, Taji is worried sick as Mehri and Marji are not at home, but when she spots them she
