History about Mary Tudor
Some people thought before Mary Tudor was Queen that she was already a bad person. Well they are right. We will see how big her family is, how she became Queen, how bad if a Queen she was, and how she died.
Mary Tudor has a very big family. Mary’s dad was Henry VIII the king of England. Her father had six wives. He was known for beheading people. He executed two of his wives named Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard. His first wife was Mary’s mother. Her name was Catherine of Aragon. She had no real siblings. She had two half-brothers and one half sisters. Her brother’s names are Edward VI of England and Henry FitzRoy the first duke of Richmond and Somerset.
Mary was the first queen to rule England in her own right. Her brutal persecution of Protestants earned her the nickname Bloody Mary. In 1533 Mary found herself declared illegitimate when Henry her father dissolved his marriage. She was then taken off her title as a princess. She also was forced to renounce her Catholic faith, though she continued to practice it secretly. After her half-brother died she fled to Norfolk because a protestant insurrection put Lady Jane Grey on the throne and not Mary. Although the general thought Mary was the rightful heir.
