Someone once said, “One man’s trash, is another man’s treasure.” Many things in our life can relate to this quote, just like an old matchbox car I own. This car has a pretty unattractive look; it is missing some wheels, the paint is chipping off, and it is starting to rust in some areas. Even though it might not be appealing, it is something that is very close to my heart. This car has special meaning to me because it was my brother’s car, my grandpa gave it to him, and it is a special collectable car. Many meaningful items aren’t the greatest things to look at, but they are a rare one to find. One reason why my brother’s matchbox car has special meaning to me is because it a rare collectable car. This car was bought in the Philippines, but not many of these cars were made. In addition, it is over 20 years old, and it has been passed down from generations. My great-grandpa gave this to my grandpa as a gift when he was a little boy. Then when my brother was little, this car was gifted to him. My brother died when I was five years old, and the one thing I have to remind me of him is his old toy car he had. Even though my family was already going through a hard time at this point in time, having that one car made the loss seem easier. Even though he died a long time ago, the one thing I remember is playing with the old, and beat up car with him. My brother and I would always fight just like other siblings would, but the only time we wouldn’t was when we were with that car. Toys are always a kid’s best friends, but when it comes from someone close, it makes it seem so much more
