“To live and to grow” is a quote that my mother always tells me. Maturity is not based on your age, but it is based on your actions , situations, and your experiences. A person's age does not necessarily define them.

To be mature you are given different situations and experiences on which you can learn from. For example, In the novel ,The Glass Castle, the protagonist is a young girl living with her parents in a terrible living condition, the father is a alcoholic and her mother is mentally crazy. Neither provide support for their children, so the young girl has to mature and provide for herself and her brothers. She takes care of everyone but herself. She matured before she could even have a childhood because of this situation she was born into not by choice but necessity. As a result, In today's society many children are in those situations they mature way before than a certain age.

For example, My father at age 16 his mother passed away , left without parents , my father did not know what to do. He was a rule breaker and a rebellious teen , but now he had no one and he thought he had no future ahead. This event lead him to step up, mature, and started working hard in school. As a result, he got into the University of Ohio , he grew and learned to be the best he can always be , and to take life seriously .

In conclusion, maturity isn't based on the aspect of how old you are, but many different elements make you mature at whatever age , it defines
