The Mexican and American War

Slaves coming unwillingly with their rebel owners trying to be part of the U.S. While trying to become a free state. The Mexican War was from 1846-1848 at the Alamo. This lead up to Texas having it’s freedom. Both sides have different ways of seeing the War. America sees it as, “U.S. historians refer to this event as the Mexican War.” (Document C Paragraph 1). The Mexicans see it as “The American government acted like a bandit who came upon a traveler.” (Document C Paragraph 4). The United States was unjustified with going to war with Mexico because America robbed Texas, the annexation of Texas, and the laws were broken by the Texans. The War with Mexico was unjustified because, the U.S. robbed Mexico of Texas. In 1846-48 America and Mexico went to War. Here, only 2 out of 63 Texans survived. This evidence shows the U.S. was unjustified with going to war with Mexico was because if they hadn't gone to war America wouldn't have Texas as a U.S state today. Also the Alamo would not be famous for the War that happened there. Mexico wanted Texas because they wanted to rule over it and and make laws. America wanted Texas because it had good land and they thought it would be a good place for lots of people to come.
