In “The New Jim Crow” Professor Michelle Alexander argues that the criminal justice system in America has evolved into new a caste system, Professor James Forman who also argues that the criminal justice system faces more complex problems that surpasses race. Even though they both have strong cases and evidence to support both their claims very well, but I agree with Prof. Alexander more for stronger evidence.

Alexander in her argument She It doesn’t introduce new information but She takes old evidence and had the ability to put it all together. This where she talks about this mass incarnation being third wave that serves the purpose of slavery and the old Jim Crow Laws. The original Jim Crow laws was very important because during this time, there were much more violent attacks and lynching against blacks. This behavior can no longer continue, so the original Jim Crow was introduced around the end of slavery which impacted people according to their race which led to voting, education and unemployment discrimination. She also made a good point saying that black people and other races used drugs almost at the similar rate, but black males has been receiving severely …show more content…
Alexander’ solutions to all of this would getting rid of the drug law and creating a massive social movement to get people talking about this ongoing problem. She believes that while all blacks and whites and other minorities groups should come together to end the new caste system. She also touched upon creating new infrastructure where people can have locations likes, parks, and greenhouses, museum, etc., where all of these give them options or an alternative to doing crime. I believe she’s right if marijuana was legal (the drug more likely chosen by African American) and focus on targeting and destroying big kingpin who makes significant amount of profits. On this we need to continue to push for the facts for equal rights to keep moving
