Miles Looking For Alaska

In the book Looking For Alaska by John Green, Miles, the protagonist, faces many issues during his first year at Culver Creek Boarding School. Miles didn't have any friends before he came to Culver Creek, so he was very awkward in social situations. This trait shows at times throughout the book. This is a weakness for Miles, because school there was very social. Also, the classes at Culver Creek were harder than Miles had presumed, and his grades weren’t as high as he wanted them to be. One thing that Miles is very good at, is remembering people’s last words. He is interested in what people said for the last time before they died, and can name almost anybody’s last words off the top of his head. Also, Miles is loyal to his friends. When they tell him something, he doesn’t tell other people, even when it can hurt him. Miles doesn’t “rat” on anybody, and stays with his friends when they need him. In the book, Miles makes a few friends: Chip (the Colonel), Takumi, Alaska, and Lara. Together, they have fun, stick together, and break the rules. I would tell him that they would never know exactly what happened to her, because she is dead. Only Alaska knows her inner thoughts, and she cannot share them with anybody anymore. Pudge’s grades were dropping because of his search for what Alaska was thinking about before she died. I would tell Pudge that it was useless to let his grades suffer because of something he will never find out. This would’ve made Pudge realize that he has to let go of Alaska earlier, and it may have saved some of his grades. Pudge would’ve spent less time worrying about that night, and more time worrying about his schoolwork. At the end of the book, Pudge does realize that he has to stop worrying about Alaska. If I were his friend, he would’ve realized that a lot
