There’s nothing like a wedding ceremony without a touch of culture. Director Mirar Nair created a film called Monsoon Wedding and this film exposes how people in India interpret their cultural lifestyle into events such as wedding ceremonies, People in India have their own form of culture affiliated with weddings with it’s own significant meaning aside from other countries. As Director Mirar Nair unfolds the life of what goes on in the process of getting married, She puts her cast through different different personal and mental situations meanwhile preparing for a wedding throughout the film. Their wedding ceremonies are different from Indian wedding ceremonies. Both American and Indian people prepare for weddings differently. Some things include, how it’s planned, The dress color the bride wears, where they get married, and in general, how long it takes until the bride and groom become husband and wife. Even though the general planning of the wedding is similar to both culture styles, the things that are getting prepared for the big day are different. Now, unlike Indian wedding ceremonies, American wedding ceremonies last at least thirty minutes to an hour with the reception lasting up to four to six hours. The dress color the bride wears in an Indian wedding is red vibrant colors to symbolize the meaning of love, seduction, and power but the American bride wears white which symbolizes purity. The locations of marriage vary for Americans such as the beach, a garden, or a church but the people in India keep their locations under a decorated canopy. Americans process of marriage last less than a day but the people in India last up to four days. In the end, A major difference that will always make the form of marriage in an Indian wedding than an American wedding is that in India the man and woman are chosen to become married by each others family. So in this case, Indian marriages are made up but American marriages
