Cesar Chavez was an American farm worker who became a civil rights activist due to his to get equal rights with the Mexican and American. Although he had to go through a strike and had to deal with the American hatred. That’s similar to the advice that the mother gave to the son In the poem “Mother to Son” by Langston Hughes.It's about portray of a mother who gives advice to her son about not giving up. For instance “where there ain’t been no lights, so boy don't you turn back”(lines13-14). This shows that the mother doesn't want her child to give up no matter the situation. Moreover, The mother gives her experience to show that she shouldn't give up because she didn't give up. Another example is when the mother explained that her life has it been a crystals stair “Don't you fall now- fore i’se still goin’, honey, I was still climbin’,”(lines 17-19). This shows that she didn't keep up in any conditions and wants her son or speaker to go farther than her. Therefore the mother's advice affects his choices and helps the son
