In 1900-1917 there were many journalists wrote jaw dropping news about the social issues and injustices to raise awareness of what's going on. Other muckrakers wrote about the weaknesses in political system. The president of the united states Theodore 'Teddy' Roosevelt, from 1901-1908, nicknamed these investigative journalists muckrakers.
