After the tragic death of Myrtle Wilson, I had the chance interviewed her husband George Wilson and the suspect Jay Gatsby. On the night of Myrtles death it was confirmed by her husband that she did indeed run outside in front of Mr. Gatsby’s car. The reason was unknown. He stated that the two had an argument about the affair Myrtle was having with an unknown man. This man, who is assumed to be Jay Gatsby. At first George thought the driver of the car what Tom Buchanan because he said, “when I was told it was a yellow car , my first thought was that Tom was the one who hit her . I was able to see he is unstable and decided not to continue the interview. Although, Mr. Gatsby was under a lot of pressure he agreed upon an interview to help clear his name. When he first walked in the look in his eyes was of sadness. He did not seem like the well put together guy that everyone seemed to know. While interviewing him he told me that it was not him who was driving the car. However, he did not want to say who it was. He seemed to be protecting someone, the reason is unknown. It is not understood why he is doing so if he knows the consequences he is facing for the death of Myrtle. He stated that he refuses to leave because he is innocent; an innocent man has no reason to hide. He truly believes the authorities will believe him. He stated that Myrtle was not his mistress. “I did not even know her. My love is for Daisy and Daisy only” said Gatsby. He seemed to be distraught because people thought so badly of him. He believed George should be punished for being the reason why Myrtle ran out. Gatsby wants the public to know that he is an innocent man that would never do such a thing to
