Nathanael Greene was a very trust worthy general and friend to George Washington. Why is Greene General Washington’s friend well the reason is because Greene had a fighting will for the American colonist side. But before Greene became a General he was a private in Rhode Island Kentish guards. Rhode Island Kentish Guards is a military meant to protect a town in Rhode Island. However the other privates in Greene’s didn’t really want Greene in their group, Because Greene had a stiff leg. They basically thought Greene would make their group look weak. Then later on Greene’s life he applied for the Revolutionary army he was accepted and was promoted to General.
Nathanael Greene was born July 27, 1742. He was married to Catherine Littlefield at the age of thirty-two on July 20th 1774. And like Nathanael Greene and George Washington became friends Catherine and Martha Washington bonded and became great friends. Not only was Catherine popular to Martha but she was popular to a lot of people. As years went by Nathanael and Catherine had one baby born in 1775 they had boy. Not only could George tell that Nathanael’s plans improved. George could tell that Nathanael’s desire and passion grew a lot stronger after Kentish Guards of Rhode Island. George knew that when Nathanael was promoted from private to brigadier General that Nathanael was the perfect man for the perfect job in the military.
