The use of nicotine alone, without the chemical added in cigarettes, have negative effect on your body, but much fewer. Nicotine is a highly addictive stimulant, and in large quantities, can result in overdoses. Research shows that the use of nicotine only, such as gum for a replacement for cigarettes, have lower cancer rates. In the US alone, cigarettes, the primary use of nicotine, result in the death of 480,000 people annually. Nicotine in itself should not be illegal, but I believe cigarettes should be illegal. Alcohol, when ingested in a large quality over a long period of time have deadly effects.
