The custodial parent most of the time needs the child support to help support the child or children to take care of them, if the noncustodial parent refuses to pay the child support it could affect the child and the way they live, if the noncustodial parent does not have enough money to pay the child support they simply cannot just not pay they must go to court to get a modification of the child support payments. Failure to do these things results in numerous different kinds of punishments. If the noncustodial parent does not pay for a year or more or the child support fees exceed 5,000 dollars the case becomes federal.
