Through my volunteer research at The Laboratory for Electro-Magnetically Inspired Biomaterials and Bio-Systems at University of Rhode Island, I learned used various wet lab techniques and software to conduct experiments and collect data. Specifically, I practiced techniques to maintain a cell line and utilized multiple programs to collect and interpret empirical data with different images. For nearly all of my experiments, I used a biosafety cabinet. I also worked with an incubator and centrifuge to complete a B16-F10 cell line split. Furthermore, I learned how to create Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium for B16-F10 to maintain the cell population and create media with different concentrations of positive, negative, or neutral peptides.
