USB 3.0 is the third major version of the Universal Serial Bus (USB) standard for interfacing computers and electronic devices. USB 3.0 has a high speed of data rate.It has transfer rate of about 5Gbit/s(62MB/s).which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0. The popularity of USB 2 and USB 3 devices slowed adoption of Firewire, resulting in the slow decline of the connection, The firewire 400 and 800 has higher speed compared to the previous USB (except for 3.0), Firewire is rated at 3 Gbps (400) and 6 Gbps (800). while Ethernet which is for mainly networking is rated at 100Mbps .
USB 3.0 has almost same specification with 2.0 in aspect of allowing users to exchange data between a host computer and a wide range of simultaneous accessible peripherals. In essence, the device allows pheripherals to be attached, used and configure while the host and other pheripherals are in operation.

The changes in this specification make improvements in the following areas:
• Transfer speed – USB 3.0 adds a new transfer type called SuperSpeed or SS, 5 Gbit/s
• Increased bandwidth – USB 3.0 uses two multidirectional data paths instead of only one: one to receive data and the other to transmit
• Power management – U0 to U3 link power management states are defined
• Improved bus use – a new feature is added (using packets NRDY and ERDY) to let a device asynchronously notify the host of its readiness, with no need for polling
• Support for rotating media – the bulk protocol is updated with a new feature called Stream Protocol that allows a large number of logical streams within an
