After reading the whole chapter, I think the first section is an introduction for this chapter. In the beginning, Obama mentions that he lives in a neighborhood where black people lives. Then he writes that white people who live in the rich area always walk their dogs in his neighborhood. This is a reflection of what he will talk about in the later of this chapter, which is the racial problem in the United States. In the middle of this section, Obama also indicates his neighbor, the black old man, which I think this figure let him think of his father. Even though he always helps this old man, they never talk with each other. To him, this black old man is a mysterious person and he wants to know more about this old man. Just like his father,
