There has been a lot of cases of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) in the Marines ever since it started. PTSD is basically a mental health condition triggered by witnessing a horrible event and for people who are diagnosed with it they struggle with depression, suicide, and having to relive that moment every day of their life. PTSD can’t be cure but many people cope with it by going to a Psychiatric doctor and getting treatment. There’s over 3 million cases of PTSD in the United States alone every year. There also has been a lot of cases of PTSD in the Marines and the Marines Boot Camp. For instance there’s a case about a man named James who committed suicide at the age of 23 because he had PTSD and no one helped him. He served two tours in Iraq, His first tour ended up in a bloody battle against the Mahdi militia in Najaf. It started in the city’s streets in august 2004 and ended up in the Wadi Al Salam Cemetery and it was a very personal battle. People were literally yards apart shooting at each other, picking people of like it was some kind of sport. He went into deep depression not eating or sleeping, he wasn’t able to be intimate with his fiancée, and was dragged by an adrenaline surge that he didn't have any control over.
