Another thing Panera can do to stop Panera from always looking to the future in an effort to attain an old goal is to focus on maintaining something within their company that keeps their products and services special (Wharton, 2010). Panera is known for their high quality and “homemade taste” that its food possesses (Shaefer, 2006). It is important to maintain something that makes the company special and unique in a business market where new and different choices are popping up daily. Panera also exudes an air of comfort and welcome with its design-these things which make Panera seem like a safe and inviting environment need to be studied and maintained. Focusing on what they can maintain that makes the company special in this business market may be a better way for the company to spend its time. However, not working on the things that the company does find to be weaknesses in an ever-changing market could cause Panera to lose opportunities to make their corporation better.
