Pastoral Counseling Interview
Pastor William L. Bradley, Jr.

Pastor Bradley, has been a born again Christian for 23, years. He is the pastor of New Hope Baptist Church. Pastor Bradley has 23 years in pastoral counseling experience. New Hopes motto is, with God, there is no hopeless situation. The body of Christ repeats this motto in every worship service. He is very passionate about the body of Christ and he has a heart for the people of God. I not only saw this, but I could feel his compassion just in talking with him. His method of counseling is a solution focused model coupled with using spiritual resources and emotional understanding to help identify problems which will help develop a solution to improve spiritual and emotional well-being. He talked about being filled with the Holy Spirit to be able to rise above any circumstance to be made healthy Also, the entire congregation is there to give love and support, offering one another care during times of difficulty, because no one is exempt from life’s problems. He called this the EMC. (Every Member Committed) to helping each other. Because the Christian community is one body, mind and spirit.

Yes, he uses a plan of insight. He said this helps to externalize what the individual maybe experiencing and it gives the one being counseled the opportunity to see what impact their choices are having on their life and to set in action a plan of spiritual healing. He allows the person to talk about their problems, how they view them, and the emotional and painful feelings. He is there to offer them support in their times of difficulty, as he helps them to identify their problems. Pastor Bradley is there to help the individual see the solution and not focus on the problem. I loved what he said, see it, say and believe, and face it and let God grace
