A positive attitude leads to perseverance which in turns creates success. In Jeannette Walls’s, “The Glass Castle”, we learn of a family’s struggles and Jeannette’s life growing up as she traveled across the country under unimaginable environments. The story begins with her earliest memory, which is when she was at the age of three. Jeannette and her siblings grow up in an unstable environment. She states that “I lived in a world that at any moment to erupt on fire. It was the sort of knowledge that kept you on your toes” (Walls 34).
