Personal Narrative: My Car

I was a sophomore in High School when I owned my first car. It was a 1986 Buick Skylark my father had bought from a neighbor that lived on our street. During the summer sweat covered my entire shirt. My car felt like a steaming sauna without air conditioning also I could only roll down the passenger window. Not to mention, a large, black, trail of smoke always came from the engine, which also made a constant thumping sound.
One night, I remember driving my car to a movie theater to meet with my friends. As I arrived, my car began to backfire, the loud sounds coming from my exhaust sounded like a burst of gunshots which caused many people, including my friends, to duck down as well as stare directly at my car. After the movie was over I was
