Personal Narrative: My First Car

When I first started on my first car, I had no idea what I was doing. I knew what needed to be accomplished, but had no clue on how to get there. I just started to construct what I knew I would need, which was a structure with wheels. I picked up a mouse trap, a small piece of wood, 2 cds, 2 small red circular objects, some tape and a zip tie. The first time that I put my wheels on I did it wrong and had wheels that couldn’t spin. One I fixed my wheels I realized I still needed to figure out how to use the actual mouse trap for power to push my car. With some help from Mr. LeBlanc I figured out an idea of what to do. I got a piece of string and I tied it in a knot on one side of the mousetrap lever and wrapped the remainder of the string to the back axle. I took my previous my structure from my first car and modified it. I knew what the errors were I just needed to figure out a good way to fix them. I looked at the materials that I could use and decided what the best plan would be. I knew that I needed to attach my wheels better so I took them right off. I made a new attachment for my axle so that the string wouldn't get caught and cause it to turn.I also realize that the string would need to not be attached straight to the buffet so instead I put two chopstick like objects and glue them onto one side of the lever. I then took my wheels and glued them on this time so that they would stay on longer. I also then put rubber bands around the wheels to add friction.
