My job shadow was an enjoyable experience which helped me out in realizing what I really want to do in my future. I did my job shadow on Lora Ward, who is a dental hygienist at White House Dental. Within the four hours I was there, I observed about five patients. Lora Ward, my job shadow host, throughout the day, mostly scraped her patient’s teeth, removing hard plaque which even brushing teeth cannot remove. She mostly kept switching tools at different parts of the teeth to get a good angle on where to scrape off the plaque. It was interesting to see the way she was really concentrated and patient, because it takes a while to remove all the plaque.
