My results were for 46% Hillary Clinton and I wasn’t completely shocked because I truly admire her work as a politician. I still don’t have a clear decision in my mind as to whether I am a true Republican or Democrat, but this quiz gave me a pathway to see which political party I belong to. Because I come from a very religious family, I have several relatives who advocate for laws to be based on some aspects of the Christian beliefs such as no abortion or homosexuality. Politics was never my cup of tea, so I never took the time to research and decide which party I belong to. In today’s world, the media does play a role in how I take a stance on certain subjects. Whenever I read or watch stories about people that are affected by the laws made in this country, I automatically get so emotional and I am quick to take their side. I spend lots of time with my friends and we share lots of beliefs among each other. Their experiences play a role in my perspective of the certain subject; for example, I have a close friend Diana who is a DACA student here at TCC. If I had to vote on whether I agree with granting DACA students citizenship, I will totally agree because I know someone who benefits from her status as a DACA student. One of the more important issues to me is immigration because I am an immigrant from Nigeria myself. Unlike those who are being deported or discriminated against, I was lucky to arrive U.S.A. legally and free to be an active citizen. I understand the reasoning behind building the wall and enforcing harsh laws on illegal immigrants. I am also aware that there are criminals and folks with bad intentions coming into the
