There are more human slaves in the world than ever before and now they are all sold on the black market illegally. Slavery is both morally wrong and illegal and is now associated with human trafficking because in both cases women, men, and children are taken against free will to work for little to no salary. Human trafficking is selling children and adults on the black market for free labor, sexual activities, or organ harvesting. Despite popular belief human trafficking is not only done for sex and labor but also used for organs. Even though it is extremely wrong, it is done everywhere in the world. Captures usually lure their victims in larger cities or using false ads. The ads may sometimes claim new travel opportunities or high paying jobs where in reality there is little to no pay. Traffickers also use threats and deception to lure their victims by saying that they will not have much of a choice or that there is no other option than to go with them. The acts are extremely manipulative but have high efficiency rates. When human traffickers seek new victims they are usually from poverty or have lack of education's. Studies prove that the victims are usually those who are depressed, have little, suffered abuse, have considered, or attempted suicide. The people capturing the innocents usually profile their victims like some serial killers are know to do. Sometimes the victim is carefully watched to see if they would fit the profile. “Those who were sex trafficked as children reported having experienced child abuse and neglect, having a close family member involved in the sex trade, suffering depression, being raped, having difficulty in school and being in proximity of those who bought or sold others for sex" (Haggerty 1).
