Animal testing is used to test pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and other products that may be used on or by humans. Scientists tend to use animal testing when there is a possibility that the substances used in the materials could cause harm to the person using them. Tons of innocent animals are being killed each year for useless reasons. The damage caused to the environment due to animal testing and abuse is beyond our imagination. Millions of animals are used for research and toxic testing each year. Everything from drugs to makeup is required certain testing before used by humans. The testing that takes place is done on animals, due to similar internal organs and tissues. Many toxic chemicals are first tested on animals by commercial companies. These toxins are not getting properly disposed of and rivers with waste materials leads to clogging, which over time turns into an irreparable damage. Not only animals are harmed when it comes to this testing because evidence has shown that the use and disposal of certain chemicals create pollution as well as adverse impacts on biodiversity and public health.

Animal testing can take up to years to conduct and analyze each experiment. Most scientists spend thousands or even millions of dollars per animal examined, and this is without the cost of the chemicals. The useless costs associated with animal testing makes it impossible for regulators to sufficiently evaluate the potential effects of the chemicals. Scientists have to special order each animal that is tested on and before the animals is used in experiment, it requires certain food and shelter that add to the expense of the actual testing.
