Introduction: Humans have drastically modified wildlife by polluting the earth we live in. Pollution is one of the major insidious threats to the environment, it ranges from obvious action, such as dumping in rivers and lakes to sprayed undetected chemicals. However, if the effect is permanent or short term the outcome does not change. Pollution changes the balance of ecosystems which causes numerous animals to become extinct. For example, the Bald eagle, peregrine falcon, and brown pelican all became endangered or extinct prior to scientists finding out that the chemical DDT, used largely in the United States as a pesticide, caused many species to die by disrupting their reproduction. Also, factor that links air pollution with endangered species are that factories, cars and smoke that is …show more content…
If the Air Pollution in Mexico harms endangered species, then a great percentage of the animal population will become endangered.
Experimental Variables:
Level of Pollution - PM10, PM2.5, NO2, SO2
Populations of multiple Endangered Species - Endangered Species in Mexico City

Place - Mexico City Area

Safety/Ethical Considerations:
The website must be chosen carefully as there are many countries being evaluated by the amount of air pollution present. The websites that are used to gather the raw data are ethical sources of information since they are members of the United Nations Development Group, this group is concerned with international public health. The methods used in this experiment constitute no risk to any living things nor to the researchers. However, there is a potential in interest groups to misinterpret the findings to forward a controversial agenda.
Explanation of Experiment:
I will be using three different website,, and Each website offers raw data that will be analyzed.
