Kids can be tricky. They can be phenomenal or atrocious. Babysitting can be a difficult job to be excellent at. I would baby sit my sister and my stepmom’s best friend’s kids all the time. My sister by herself would be wonderful. She’s a little angel when it’s just her. Then, we add a seven and a three year old and it would be like world war three. Here are my steps to being an amazing babysitter. If I were to babysit for someone other than a family member or friend, I would get emergency contact information and anything I need to know about the children. Some kids have allergies or behavioral problems. I need to know how to deal with the behavior problems or what I should avoid when I’m feeding them. Feeding them shouldn’t be an issue if I’m watching them at their house as they should have nothing to do with their allergy. I also need to know if I need to put them to bed,depending on what time I am babysitting them. During the day, I need to know if they take naps and at night, I need to know when they go to bed on a usual night. Next, I would introduce myself to the child or children. I can’t just sit there on my phone and let the child run around, especially younger children. Children learn from stimulation. They learn from the people around them. If they get hungry, I would either make them supper or I would find them a snack. I usually make mac n’ cheese if they have it. If the parents give me options for dinner and snacks, I follow their rules. I don’t make my own rules with children because they aren’t my kids. I find activities, such as a board game or crafts, to do with the child. If they need help with homework or anything else, I help them with it. When the parents come home, I give them a run down of what I did and what happen. I tell them if their children were behaving or not. Babysitting isn’t hard after I did it a couple
