Although, there are many awards or metals you can get for winning, singing, performing well etc. One reward that some people like, but some also hate, it is the Participation reward that “Everyone” gets just for being a participant. This reward has no requirements to achieve and is just a nice little thing for people who didn’t do as well to feel good about themselves. This nice reward was always given to everyone because everyone deserved something to show them that they did good. I believe that everybody is a winner and this reward should be liked by more people because it makes them feel good about themselves. Whenever anything that has rewards in it make people that didn’t get anywhere near 3rd place feel unachieved. I always felt proud even if it wasn’t a 1st place medal or even a 3rd, so having rewards everyone can get. When I first got into middle school there were many things that I didn’t get any rewards, but then I did things that gave out participation rewards. The participation award keeps players going, if they do not get at least that then they may shut down. A feeling of achievement makes people feel very good about their work they did. This reward may be small but to many it is a big thing to them because it might be the biggest thing they’ve achieved. The feeling really helps kids in school, it boosts their confidence in their work, allowing there to be more success. This confidence will build a better world of great workers who are confident in their own work. The work of a confident man is much different than the work of a man who feel like his work is terrible. Competition is always a good thing. It forces us to do our best.
