Philbrick's Courage In Freak The Mighty

In Philbrick’s Freak the Mighty, the 2 eccentric friends reunite and teach one another their way of acceptance throughout the story. An ignorant Max, is vulnerable in chapter 6 for his anxiety about Tony D. On the other hand, a reliable Kevin is full of curiosity when it came to a repugnant Tony’s approach at him. Philbrick, was proving the story in an explicit tonality as he was persuading the courage in Freak. A despicable Tony calls out, “Hey what? And he moves right in front of Freak. “Want to say that again little Freak man?” Freak steps right up and says, “cretin, C-R-E-T-I-N.” This exemplifies Freak’s bravery and confidence towards Tony D which leads to him becoming a leader nor a bystander.
