The city Socrates and Adeimantus are building require many elements. There are 4 particular ones, wisdom, courage, moderation, and justice. Wisdom are the knowledge the guardians have in order to keep the city in peace and order. Courage is obviously the people that keep the city from being attacked, ex: military/police. These people are well trained in order to survive attacks from other cities. The temperance of the city is every person having a role to fulfill in that city. Justice is the principle of specialization. In other words, each person is given a role that they are most suited to do.
