The theme of the poem is to not judge anything by its appearance and the tone is annoyed and grateful. We picked this theme because we see many people getting bullied, but if you get to know that person then you can be friends with them and have a nice relationship. We chose the tone as annoyed and grateful because Paul was grateful at first to be able to play on the Tangerine Middle soccer team and was also grateful to be able to hang out with the Tangerine kids. Paul was also annoyed though because he was being treated differently because of his disability and the huge glasses that he has to wear.
