The country I have chosen to focus on for my research paper is Portugal. Portugal is a southern European country on the Iberian Peninsula, bordering Spain and the Atlantic Ocean. Portugal is also a nation state, meaning that the nation is vastly the same culturally and ethnically. I was attracted to this country at first because of its beautiful scenic landscape and rich cultural history, and felt that there were a lot of things to learn about the country and the Portuguese people.
