Power has two sides, there is the negative and there is the positive. Although there are two sides, there is only one ultimate conclusion that can be made from it’s quest. When you are on the journey to power, actions will be committed that are against human nature. The journey may consist of things that a person wouldn’t normally do, things that are against morals and values. But because of the want for power they will do whatever it takes. There is no justification for their actions; although there are ways to gain power without committing actions that are inhumane, once your eyes are on the prize rational thinking goes out the window.

People may have different motives when it comes to gaining power. Some might argue that in order to get to the top there will be casualties; you might have to get your hands dirty. Some might argue to justify the actions that are committed

Gregor’s family only needed him for money, other than that he wasn't very useful to them. His father was out of work and he owed money to Gregor's boss. Since his father had no way of paying off his debt or providing for his family; Gregor had to step in and support his family. Which resulted in him becoming a slave to a job that he despised. (Kafka,94-95) Gregor’s life ran on schedule, it was the same thing every day. When his family noticed that he still hadn’t gotten out of bed one morning they began to worry, simply because there was money to be made. Without Gregor they couldn’t survive. Almost how humans can’t survive without oxygen; money was the key to their living like oxygen is key to human life. The family was oblivious of their manipulative and selfish ways. What mattered most to them was the money that their son brought in, which resulted in their son’s isolation. Gregor found peace in his room while shutting everyone out. Today in society many people isolate themselves because of the abuses they
