The Second Indochina War lasted for 21 years between France and VIetnam. France was forced to leave Vietnam. With the help of SEATO and President Eisenhower a new nation was created in Southern Vietnam. With the help of the Americans again, the Government of the Republic of Vietnam was created. In 1961 President Kennedy received asking for more aid in Vietnam. Many people disagreed on the issue if he should do it or not. President Kennedy settled in the middle by only sending limited aid to Vietnam. By 1963 GVN was on the political collapse.
