For rather long period of time there were arguments in favor or against death penalty as a measure of punishment. Proposition 34 displays another attempt to solve the situation. Arguments about death penalty have rather long history and as a result all possible aspects are taken into consideration. Despite that such approach does not make the decision easier but turns it into even more complicated. That is why it is important to focus on the Proposition itself rather than on the general aspects of the expediency of the issue. However moral aspect of the problem also has to be taken into consideration as well. This way it becomes obvious that Proposition 34 does not provid balanced solution of the issue.
Main point that is provided by Proposition 34 was change of the death penalty by life imprisonment. Sentenced does not have right of parole in this case. They would have to work within the prison system to pay retribution to the families of the victims. This proposition was

This way both arguments in favor and against have to be taken into consideration. Supporters of the Abolition of the death penalty are focused on the ethical part of the issue stating that this way it would help to omit killing innocent people who got in the cell of the condemned to death by mistake or because of the imperfection of the judiciary.
