Google
Google is a commercial marketing website. It is a search engine. I think that it has achieved its purpose because it provides fast searches and it is the largest search engine in the world. It is easy to use as all you need to do is write your word in the box and press ‘search’. It provides a lot of different links to other websites fast. It also provides images, maps, news, shopping, mail, video, groups, books, scholar, finance and blogs. You can also advertise on it.

It has a number of different websites in different languages so people use it across the world. It is a very fast download speed. It has been running for almost 10 years. You have the choice to search from pages around the world or pages from the UK.

Google is also used on many websites as searches. Google also provides iGoogle which is where you create an account on Google and provides the following things:

‘Indulge your creativity: Select a visual theme to decorate your homepage and drag and drop individual sections to rearrange the page however you'd like.
Focus on your interests: Pick and choose from thousands of Google Gadgets to add games, news, pictures, weather and more to your homepage, all for free.
Change your mind: Switch back and forth between your iGoogle page and Google's "Classic Homepage" through the link in the upper right-hand corner.’

You can also access news, weather, sport, videos and maps on one page.

The audience is mainly aimed for adults because of its factual layout, but a lot of young people do use it because it is simple and the font is big and easy to read. There is not a lot on the page but it does offer other links that are mainly aimed at adults like business solutions. [pic]

eBay eBay is a commercial transaction website. It provides numerous items from a number of sellers at a cheaper price than most shops. Some items are new and some items are used. I think it has achieved its purpose because it is one of the best online auction sites in the world.

To join eBay all you need to do its click on the ‘register’ at the top of the page on the right of the eBay logo. When you want to sign in again you have to click on the ‘sign in’ hyperlink at the top next to the eBay logo as well.

There are numerous hyperlinks listed down the right hand side of the screen. These are the ‘most popular’ categories including DVD’s and movies, sporting goods and video games. There is a search box which is where you can type keywords for what product you want. For example if you wanted a laptop, you might type in laptop and scroll down to see what comes up. You can also choose advanced search which is used if you want a more specific item.

When you search you can also view it by a list, gallery and window shopping. You can also sort them into different things including; time ending soonest, time newly listed, price and p+p lowest, price and p+p highest, price lowest, price highest, distance, payment, condition used, condition new, best match and category. You can also save the search so it will be easier to access again. There are also shops and eBay motors. eBay motors are selling vehicles and spare parts.
All of these things are good because it makes it easier to get what you want quickly. There are 29 different languages for eBay.

eBay is aimed at people over the age of 18 because you have to use credit and debit cards to pay for things.
