Rain Man is a 1988 American show coordinated by Barry Levinson and composed by Barry Morrow and Ronald Bass. It recounts the narrative of a grating and narrow minded yuppie, Charlie Babbitt (Tom Cruise), who finds that his alienated father has passed on and granted the majority of his multimillion-dollar home to his other child, Raymond (Dustin Hoffman), a mentally unbalanced academic, of whose presence Charlie was unconscious. The main positive characteristics of the movie is that the movie shows in-depth understanding of mental illnesses, Gives an accurate portrayal of how autism is, Shows how people should treat people with autism and Gives a generalization about autism. As discuss in the class people first Acknowledges the individual, their skills and strengths, Describes what person has; not who they are, in this movie we clearly saw that how people think about Raymond’s disability and how they treat him. As we discuss in the class that disable person has a important part of our community and every person as their unique talent as Raymond has very intelligent math and in the movie we saw that how Raymond help his brother to make more money but in spite of that I the other and we saw that Charlie is just using his brother for his own profit but at the end of the movie Charlee realises the importance of his brother and his talent also which will change his thinking about the autistic person .In the class we also discuss about it that to Focus on the child instead of their difference or disability and give respect to
