I believe that Ralph shows more leadership than Jack. Ralph is very committed to finding his way home and creating a civilization. Jack wants to hunt, control the group, and be the leader. I think Ralph is much smarter and more committed; therefore, Ralph is a much better leader that Jack would be.

One example is how jack acts towards all of ralph's ideas.Jack is never happy with the way ralph runs the group. Jack always has his own opinion and this he would be a much better leader than Ralph.In chapter 8 jack and the choir, not Simon, leave and go start there own civilization. Once there was a separation within the groups the boys personalities changed drastically. The boys started to hunt and kill pigs for the fun of it, therefore, this shows how the boys have literally no humanity left they have turned into animals. “How can we make a fire?” how can we make a fire? "Jack squatted back and frowned at the pig. We will raid them and take fire”(page 136 Golding). This shows how Jack and most of the boys are losing all their humanity and doesn't care about anyone besides himself. Jack will never be satisfied until he controls everyone and now that Jack has, in chapter 9, he will not stop until he has taken everything from ralph. In conclusion, jack is a horrible example of a leader.

In conclusion, Ralph is a much better leader than Jack. Ralph shows devotion for his group and hope. Jack shows power and leadership; expect, Jack shows leadership like a tyrant. A tyrant is a cruel and oppressive ruler. Ralph is loyal to his people but in chapter 9 Ralph starts to loose hope in his civilization because Jack takes all the
