Ever since the evolution of humans, before we settled and adopted towards agriculture, when humans lead a simple life of hunting and gathering; meat was an integral part of their daily diet. Humans have since moved on from that simple lifestyle to one that allows us access to all types of foods from around the world at anytime of day and in any season, yet meat still remains as a significant part of the human diet. There is no complete and valid argument that is without caveats, exceptions or pertaining to certain context, which implies that the consumption of meat is negative in terms of human health. It can, therefore, be stated that

Contrary to the claim of many vegetarian diet supporters, meat has many benefits to the human health. According to a study done by McAfeea et al. (2009): "Red meat is long established as an important dietary source of protein and essential nutrients including iron, zinc and vitamin B12" (p. 1), which establishes meat as being beneficial to the human diet. While some may argue that meat contains a lot of unhealthy fats and unnecessary cholesterol, moderate consumption of lean meat, on the other hand, was shown in Beauchesne-Rondeau's study to "lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and TG" (p. 587).
